Wesley (Wes) Wayne Fowler, 60, of Huntsville passed away February 1, 2017 at Baptist Springhill Hospital in North Little Rock. He was born July 14, 1956 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Odie and Nellive Fowler. The family returned to their home state of Arkansas in 1960 and settled in Huntsville where Wes has resided most of his life. He married Rose Qualls on July 7, 1978. They have three daughters, Melissa, Michelle and Lori and one son Leon. Wes has always been the "go to" man for getting something done. No toy truck, bicycle or anything escaped examination. He took everything apart "to see how it works". As a young man selling lumber for construction he determined he could build a house which of course he did and went on to have his own construction business for several years. He joined the political field in 1989. He served as Madison County's county clerk from 1989-1998 and as county judge from 1999-2010. After that he served on the Arkansas Association of Counties. Upon retirement, he became a consultant for the counties. He has served his community and the state with integrity, loyalty, and tireless energy. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and taking care of his family. Wes is survived by his wife Rose of the home; Three daughters and sons-in-law Melissa and Johnny Birchfield of Springdale; Michelle and Kenny Thomas and Lori and Kyle Taylor of Huntsville and son and daughter-in- law Leon and Ana Hendricks also of Huntsville; six grandchildren- Heather and Fowler Birchfield, Madisyn and Kenndra Thomas, Kaden Taylor and Benjamin Hendricks; a sister Naomi and Mike Taylor, a brother Wyllie and Laura Fowler and numerous nieces and nephews. Wes was preceded in death by his parents Odie and Nellive and a sister Norma Sue Armstrong. Services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Charles H Berry gymnasium in Huntsville. Burial will follow at the Huntsville Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 1-3 pm on Sunday February 5, 2017 at Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net. in Huntsville. Pallbearers: Lanny McConnell, Kenny Thomas, Kyle Taylor, Leon Hendricks, Johnny Birchfield, Kenny Harriman, Matt Gillham, James Jr Bolinger and Juston Ramirez Honorary Pallbearers: Michael Taylor, Jack Lovin, Gil Bryant, Barry Tice, Chris Villines, Frank Weaver, All County officials of Arkansas and Arkansas Association of Counties employees In lieu of flowers the family request's donations be made to the Wes Fowler Memorial fund at Cornerstone Bank in Huntsville.
