Verlin Eugene "Kingfish" King, 79, of Springdale, Arkansas, formerly of Marble, Arkansas, died August 10, 2008 at his home. He was born April 4, 1929 at Kingston, Arkansas, the son of Ewin and Ova Bradshaw King. He was a farmer, logger, road graderman and sawmiller. He was veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 40th Infantry Division of the United States Army in Korea. He was a Christian and loved to fish and whittle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wynona Marie Whiteley King on November 12, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one halfbrother. Survivors include: six sons and three daughters-in-law, Randall "Randy" and Jan King of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Charles "Chuck" and Kathy King, Larry and Sue King and Roger King, all of Marble, Arkansas, Adrian King of Berryville, Arkansas and Benjamin "Ben" King of Wharton Creek, Arkansas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and J. C. Jones of Witter, Arkansas and Joyce and Jimmy Hudspeth of Marble, Arkansas; one brother, Boyd King of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; two sisters, Alice Sims and Dorothie Hudspeth, both of Marble, Arkansas; four brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law, Mary and Jeff Beams of Jerome, Idaho, Virginia Phillips of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Leota Carnahan of Claremore, Oklahoma, Gary and Charleen Whiteley of Nampa, Idaho, Dusty and Debbie Whiteley of Mountain Home, Idaho and Bill Whiteley of Buhl, Idaho; two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Chad and Sarah Hudspeth and Derek and Season Hudspeth, all of Marble, Arkansas; four granddaughters and two grandsons-in-law, Andrea Morrell and Jennifer Hudspeth of Huntsville, Arkansas, Michella and Andrew Gardner of Marble, Arkansas and Brandi and Mark Wilson of Springdale, Arkansas; two great-grandsons, Ethan Hudspeth and Isaiah Hudspeth, both of Marble, Arkansas; and six great-granddaughters, Kimberly Gardner, Brooke Gardner, Jasmine Hudspeth, Madison Hudspeth and Arizona Hudspeth, all of Marble, Arkansas and Kaitlyn Morrell of Huntsville, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Wednesday, August 13, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverend Dearl Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Upper Campground Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Randy King, Larry King, Roger King, Rick Hudspeth, Derek Hudspeth and Hubert Burris. Honorary pallbearers will be: Chuck King, Adrian King, Ben King, Charlie Phillips, Fred Bradshaw, Joe Carter, Lanny McConnell, Kenneth Wright, Jim Autry, Chad Hudspeth and Jim Hudspeth.
