Shirley Jo Treat

Shirley Jo Treat, 73, of Kingston, passed from this life, surrounded by dear friends and family on July 4, 2018. She was born in Berryville, on June 9, 1945. She graduated from Fayetteville High School, then in her later years, went on to graduate with her Bachelor's Degree in Business from John Brown University. Shirley was married to her best friend, Randy Treat, on February 18, 1966, in Fayetteville. They celebrated 51 glorious years together before Randy's passing just ten short months ago. Shirley led a very full life, traveling across the country with her family as her kids and grandkids pursued rodeo and school activities. She was a jack of all trades, from a tax accountant to a Deputy Coroner for Madison County. Shirley served as secretary, volunteer firefighter, and EMT for the Kingston Volunteer Rural Fire Department from January 2005 until her death. Shirley was a retired school teacher from the Mansfield School District in Mansfield. She loved barrel horses, and for the past two years she was an official barrel race judge for Lucky Dog Barrel Racing Productions, where she would gladly sit for hours and watch run after run. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Randy; her in-laws, Beuford and Darlene Treat; her mother, Josephine Mhoon; and father and step-mother, Odel and Neva Smith.She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Myle and Mike Meyers of Kingston; two sons, Shawn Treat of Bentonville, and Aaron Treat of Orlando, Florida; seven grandchildren, Whitley Vann and Ryder Phillips-Treat of Kingston; Gage Treat, Will Treat, and Maggie Treat of Bentonville, Chase Meyers of Kingston, and Chance Meyers of Branson, Missouri; one great-granddaughter, Ellie Meyers of Branson, Missouri; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Andy Macias of Springdale; one brother, Pete Smith of Huntsville; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Betty and Robert Treat of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her niece, Robie London of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; her nephew, Todd Treat and wife, Kim, of Broken Arrow, OK; and and numerous great nephews and great nieces. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the service. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville with Kenny Bailey and Jeff Cantrell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shirley Treat Memorial Scholarship, Lucky Dog Barrel Racing Productions, 15337 Highway 70, Brinkley, AR 72021.
