Ricky Watson

Ricky Everett Watson, 60, of Harrison; passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Baxter Regional Medical Center, Mountain Home. He was born Thursday, August 16, 1962, in Fayetteville; to Everett Verdon and Nancyann Elizabeth Lawson Watson. Rick married Mercedes Louise Shelt on Friday, August 16, 2002, in Fayetteville; and was father to four children. As a graduate of Huntsville High School, Rick obtained his law degree in 1994 and founded Watson Law Firm in Harrison, with his wife, Mercedes. He was a member of the Arkansas Bar Association and the Masonic Lodge. Rick also enjoyed training at Cross Fit, where he deadlifted 410 pounds twice; as well as training and judging Missouri Fox Trotters. He was an amazing man, father, and role model; a known problem solver, and a reader of people. As a stage four cancer survivor, Rick believed everyone should live life to the fullest. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Nancyann Watson. He is survived by his wife, Mercedes Watson, of the home; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Nolan and Kenda Mara, of Harrison; Garland Watson, of Harrison; and Payden Watson, of Huntsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Bentley and Alex Stilwell, of Nixa, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Magnus Mara, of Harrison; Leo Watson, of Huntsville; Bear Watson of Huntsville; and Izzy Watson of Elkins. He is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Loy and Yvonne Watson, of Wesley; and Kimmy and Tina Watson, of Huntsville; and one sister, Dawn Gibbons, of Harrison. The family will receive friends at 9:00 AM, Friday, June 30, 2023, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM, with Van Bennett officiating. Pallbearers will be Payden Watson, Nolan Mara, Garland Watson, Milan Duris, Stephen Witty, and Jeff Slaton. Honorary pallbearers will be Van Bennett, Kimmy Watson, Evan Walden, Judge John Putman, Johnny Nichols, Phillip Moon, and Marvin Manring. Interment will immediately follow services at Huntsville Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
