Max Alvis Clark, 86, of Huntsville; passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Georgetown. He was born Tuesday, September 19, 1939, at Tuttle; to James Alvin and Macel VanBrunt Clark. Max was a graduate of Elkins High School where he played varsity basketball. He married Letha Ellen Watkins on Tuesday, July 26, 1960 at Johnson; and together they were parents to three children. He worked for many years as an engineer with Elkhart Copper Products in Fayetteville and attended the Japton Church of Christ, partime. Max had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. Max was a devoted Arkansas Razorbacks fan; he also loved taking vacations across the country, and never passed up an opportunity to enjoy a meal from Kentucky Fried Chicken. Max also had a special fondness for John Deere tractors and found great satisfaction in farming and could often be found cutting firewood for the winter months. Above all, Max was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment to providing for his family. He will be remembered for the simple joys he cherished, the life he built through hard work, and the love he shared with those around him. Max was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Walden; his parents, James and Macel Clark; one brother, Bob Clark; and one sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Gerald Harriman. He is survived by his wife, Letha Clark, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Gayle Clark, and Tom and Dreama Clark, all of Huntsville; six grandchildren, Aaron Clark, Curtis and Heather Clark, Kendra and Corwin Bragg, Emily Clark, Caleb Fouts, and Nevaeh Helvey; and five great-grandchildren, Presleigh Lammey, Brantley Clark, Raylin Clark, James Bragg, and Hailee Bragg. Max is also survived by one brother, Bruce Clark, of Elkins; and one sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Bill Morris, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The family will receive friends 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, June 12, 2026, at Brashears Funeral Home with Jeff Thomas officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Garrett, Johnny Watkins, Lyndell Watkins, James Roy Clark, Kevin Clark and David Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon Harriman, Jim Watkins, Michael Harriman, Kenny Stahman, Rick Clark, and Ronnie Watkins. Interment will immediately follow services at McChristian Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
