JT Grigg

JT Grigg, 91, of Huntsville shed his mortal body and passed from this life into eternal glory on Monday, September 14, 2026. He was born Thursday, July 4, 1935, at Marble, AR, to Fred and Bertha Littrell Grigg. JT married Christine Burgess on Saturday, July 4, 1953, in Marble, and together they were parents to two children, Randy Kay and Donald Ray. He was a hard worker, traveling to find work across farms in Kansas, Wyoming, and Idaho in his younger years and eventually retiring from work at Butterball in Huntsville. As a young man, JT was an avid racoon hunter. He took pride in caring for his home, his garden, and his animals. His garden was always a place of abundance, and he grew enough food to not only keep his own table, pantry, and freezer full, but to also share with family, neighbors, and friends. Over the years he raised cattle, kept flocks of chickens and guineas, kept horses and mules, and provided a home to countless dogs and cats that found their way to him. Above all else, JT was a man who loved his family and always tried to do what was right. He was someone you could depend on and a man of his word. He was a member of the Marble United Baptist Church and served on the Board of Directors of the Marble Volunteer Fire Department. JT was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Christine, brothers Fred Jr., Kenneth (Eugene), Donald, sisters Mary Virginia Lee and Betty Miller, and one grandson, Jared Grigg. He is survived by two brothers, JW Grigg of Harrisonville, MO, and Ronald Grigg of Huntsville, two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Cindy Grigg; and Donald and Rocio Grigg, both of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Brandi (David) Waters, Christina (Zachary) Matthews, and Brian (Clare Hobday) Grigg; four great-grandchildren, Oliver and Nora Waters and Isabelle and Josephine Matthews. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 18, 2026, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on site at 2:00 PM, with Coy Siegrist officiating. Pallbearers will be Haskel Kindle, Leroy Connolly, Brian Grigg, David Waters, Oliver Waters, and Zachary Matthews. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Emitt, Hubert Burress, Lonnie Miller, and Freddie Hargis. Interment will immediately follow services at Alabam Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home & Crematory.
