Glen "Blackie" Canion, 86, of Huntsville; passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at Willard Walker Hospice Home, Fayetteville. He was born Saturday, September 24, 1938, at Eagle Pass, Texas; to Darrel Ben and Cassie Holsey Canion. Glen married Betty Lou Ledbetter Canion on Thursday, July 3, 1958, and together they were blessed with three children: David, Danny "Bo," and Darrell. He worked as a truck driver for Zero Mountain and spent his earlier years in the oil fields. Glen had a deep love for dancing, riding horses, and football. He also enjoyed going to sales, collecting treasures, and sharing stories. Huntsville held a special place in his heart, and he found joy in spending time with friends and family, visiting the senior center, and sipping coffee at Harps. Above all, his greatest joy was his grandchildren, whom he cherished dearly. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Betty; a set of twin children, son and daughter; three brothers, Jack, Buddy, and Darrell Canion; and one sister, Syble Courtney; and one granddaughter. He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Lois Wood, and three sons and daughters-in-law, David (Judy) Canion, Danny "Bo" (Kara) Canion, and Darrell (Rebecca) Canion, all of Huntsville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Dustin Canion, Tara Carter, Justin Lynn Canion, Casey Ford, Ethan Canion, Blake Canion, Brittany Blisard, and Jeffery Canion; two sisters, Glayds Harris of Huntsville and Sussie Olson of Lytle, Texas; and eleven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, February 28, 2025, at Brashears Funeral Home with Bobby Young and Edward Ledbetter officiating. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Thompson, Wayne Ledbetter, Terry Mullen, JB Canion, Chuck Harris, and Dion Litterell. Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Canion, Justin Canion, Lee Ford, Jeffery Canion, Ethan Canion, Blake Canion, and Rope Blisard. Interment will immediately follow services at Huntsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Glen's name may be made to Madison County Senior Center, PO Box 598, Huntsville, AR, 72740. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
