Carol Lynn Spurlock, 81, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died April 29, 2012 at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born January 18, 1931 at Huntsville, Arkansas, the daughter of Arlis Leverett and Jessie Hawkins Coger. She owned and operated Jim's Five and Dime, The Attic Dress Shop and Jim's Floor Coverings with her husband James Lee Spurlock who preceded her in death on May 22, 2001. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Huntsville and was preceded in death by one grandson-in-law, Mark McClure. Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Marilyn Spurlock of Huntsville, Arkansas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Steve Bowen of Wesley, Arkansas and Leslie and Rick Evans of Huntsville, Arkansas; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Richard Coger of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Kay and Betty Coger and Charles and Lois Jean Coger, all of Huntsville, Arkansas; one sister and brother-in-law, Doris Ann and Bill Kisor of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Josh and Chelsea Bowen of Elkins, Arkansas and Matt and Leigh Evans of Springdale, Arkansas; three granddaughters and two grandsons-in-law, Shannon McClure of Springdale, Arkansas, Brandy and Hugh Reynolds of Huntsville, Arkansas and Jenny and Rob Champlin of Wesley, Arkansas; three great-grandsons, Justin Reynolds of Huntsville, Arkansas, Aiden Evans of Springdale, Arkansas and Gavin Bowen of Elkins, Arkansas; seven great-granddaughters, Chasity Reynolds and Makayla Reynolds, both of Huntsville, Arkansas, Alyssa Bowen of Elkins, Arkansas, Kaci McClure and Kelsi McClure and Emma Evans, all of Springdale, Arkansas and Taryn Champlin of Wesley, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Wednesday, May 2, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverends Allen Crum and Butch Bolinger officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Josh Bowen, Matt Evans, Hugh Reynolds, Rob Champlin, Steve Spurlock and Mark Kelso. Honorary pallbearers will be: Judy Delaporte, Jo Hooper, Vivian Lewis, Roberta Appleton, Lucina Brashears, Katie Nelson, Melba Sharp and Betty Gaskill. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P. M. to 6:00 P. M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, Post Office Box 1257, Huntsville, Arkansas 72740-1257.
