Irvin "Jack" Russell, 78, of Witter, Arkansas passed away January 21, 2022, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. Jack was born Sunday, January 2, 1944, in Clarksville, Arkansas; to Paul and Iva (Nunley) Russell . He grew up in Arkansas, New Mexico, and California. In 1985, he moved back to Arkansas to be near his family. He was a respected drywaller and handyman, who helped many people in need through the years. Hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling the states were a few hobbies that he enjoyed as well, as he loved driving through the countryside and enjoyed seeing new things. His amazing memory of people and places was exceptional in that he was able to recall people's names, faces and where he met them, decades later. There was no such thing as a stranger to him. Most recently, he enjoyed spending time with his loving companion Arletha Gibson whom he loved and adored. Jack is survived by his loving companion, Arletha Gibson; daughters, Wanda (Chip) Barnett of Angels Camp, California; Carole Russell (Dave Jensen) of Rocklin, California; former wife and mother of his children, Nancy Wenz; his grandchildren, Sarah (Matt) Szepesi, AJ (Amy) Barnett, Jerrid (Maggie) Higgins, Farrin Higgins, Lauren (Cliff) Schuldt, Morgan (Ibriham) Shamia, Meagan Bucey, Marissa Bucey, Madison Bucey, Marshall Earls, Molly Earls, and Mason Earls; eleven great grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews, Laurie Giannini, Bob (Heather) Kelly, Amy (Brad) Roggow, Bonnie (Dave) Benham, Diana (Frank) Ripepi, Jacqueline Meares, Rhonda Russell, Robin Russell, Eugene Chilson, Karen Chilson, Anthony Chilson, Timothy Mielke, and Julia Mielke (Joseph) Alvarez. Jack is preceded in death by daughters, Heidi Bell and Ginger Bucey; granddaughter, Emilie Bell; sisters, Geneva Mielke and Paulette (Bob) Decker; brothers, Joaquin (Dee) Russell and Donny (Ann) Russell; niece, Paula Chilson; nephew, Daniel Mielke; and parents, Paul and Iva Russell. Private interment will be at the Venus Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
