Gary Watkins

January 16, 1947 - January 31, 2017

Gary Watkins, 70, of Springdale, Arkansas, died January 31, 2017 at his home.  He was born January 16, 1947 at Pettigrew, Arkansas, the son of Mark Dane and Edith Marie Patrick Watkins.  He was a retired truck driver for Sioux Transportation, a Christian and a member of Mulberry Lodge #272, Free and Accepted Masons at Oark, Arkansas and Huntsville Chapter #487, The Order of the Eastern Star at Huntsville, Arkansas.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Haught.Survivors include: his wife, Theresa Gail Youngblood Watkins of the home; three sons, Shawn Watkins and Michael Watkins, both of Amarillo, Texas and Chad Diaz of Maryland; two daughters and one son- in-law, Vanessa Kaye and Jeff Hamilton of Cabot, Arkansas and Melena Watkins of Belton, Texas; one brother, Jack Watkins of Springdale, Akansas; one sister, Ozenia Marrs of Huntsville, Arkansas; three granddaughters, Miranda Diaz of Conway, Arkansas, Madilyn Hamilton and Lilah Hamilton both of Cabot, Arkansas and several nephews and nieces.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, February 7, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverend Paul Payne officiating.  Eastern Star rites will be by Huntsville Chapter #487, The Order of the Eastern Star.  Interment will be in the Witter Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas.  Pallbearers will be: Kevin Watkins, Brent Watkins, Kendall Holloway, Kennith Holloway ,Johnnie Kyle Walker and Cameron Walker.  Honorary pallbearers will be: Alecia Walker, Dwayne Marrs, Kent Marrs, Debra Holloway, Larry Lynch, Jim Fultz and Kassandra Holloway.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. on Monday at the funeral home.
