Eugene Holloway

Eugene Holloway, 90, of Wesley, Arkansas, died September 9, 2011 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born April 4, 1921 at Muskogee, Oklahoma, the son of Jesse Marion Scofield "Dick" and Lillie Richardson Holloway. He was a businessman who built homes, owned and operated restaurants and service statiions and he was a cattle farmer. He served in the Civilian Conservations Corps prior to his service in World War Two as a member of the United States Army. He was a Christian and attended the First Assembly of God Church in Huntsville and was a member and past commander of Hayes-Smith Post #137, American Legion at Huntsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, J. C. Holloway and Gerald Holloway and one sister, Rosa Holloway Duncan. Survivors include: His wife of sixty-nine years, Glenda Watson Holloway of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jerry and Fink Holloway of Wesley, Arkansas, Dwight and Cindy Holloway of Chillicothe, Illinois, Stanley Holloway of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lana and Wilbert Howell of Springdale, Arkansas and Tena and J. B. Canion of Aurora, Arkansas; four brothers, Dalton Holloway, Doyle Holloway, Floyd Holloway and Kennith Holloway; thirteen grandchildren, Dennis Howell, Scott Howell, Joseph Holloway, David Holloway, Adam Canion, Brant Holloway, Sharon Holloway Blair, Carrie Canion Butler, Kyle Holloway, Andrea Canion Honeycutt, Shari Holloway Oliver, Levi Holloway and Sean Holloway and fourteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Monday, September 12, at the First Assembly of God Church in Huntsville with The Reverends Doug McClure and Glen Faulkner officiating. Interment will be in the Drakes Creek Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
