Troy Wayne Fowler, Jr., 88, of Boxley,Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Walnut Grove Nursing Facility in Springdale, Arkansas .He was born September 21, 1926 in Skedee, Oklahoma. His family moved to Newton County when he was very young, and he lived most of his life in Boxley. On July 9, 1950 he married the love of his life, Ima Jean Duty. He served in the United States Army. He was a farmer- raising cattle and hogs on a large farm in Boxley on the Buffalo River- and also was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture as a Livestock and Poultry Inspector for almost forty years. He was a member of Boxley Baptist Church. Mr. Fowler enjoyed riding and training horses, and competed in rodeo in the calf roping, team roping, and steer wrestling , and also was a rodeo judge. For several years he produced a rodeo at his arena in Boxley. He enjoyed going to rodeos to watch his children, and later to watch his grandchildren compete and he was very proud of the success his grandsons had in the sport of rodeo. Mr. Fowler was preceded in death by his wife of thirty years, Ima Jean Duty Fowler on December 30, 1980; his parents Troy and Dixie Carroll Fowler; a brother, Carl Fowler; a sister, Helen "Tootsie" Clark. He is survived by his children: Mary Lynn and husband Skip Emmett of Boxley; Sandra Sue and husband Gary Farmer of Compton; Michael Fred Fowler of Siloam Springs; two grandsons, Cale and wife Shauna Emmett of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Payden Emmett and fiance' Polly Hunter of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; one great grandson, Judd Henry Emmett; his brothers and sister-in-laws, Bill and Nina Lee Fowler, Jimmy and Donna Fowler, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 23, 2:00 P.M. at the Boxley Baptist Church with the Reverend Vernon Fowler and Claud Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery at Boxley under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Gary Farmer, Skip Emmett, Cale Emmett, Payden Emmett, Fowler Tomasich, Gary Bunch, Chad Bunch, Eddy Fowler, and Troy Lynn Clark. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville, Arkansas.
