Thomas David "Tom" Jackson, 72, of Aurora, Arkansas, died August 21, 2015 at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born June 28, 1943 at Japton, Arkansas, the son of Burley VanBuren and Laura Ella Pennington Jackson. He was a farmer and had retired from the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission. He was the youngest of ten children in his family and a member of the Aurora Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Andrew Jackson, Burley Jackson, Jr., Bill Jackson and Bobby Joe Jackson and by three sisters, Geraldine Jackson, Irene Hunter and Lela Whelchel. Survivors include: his wife, Shirley Jean Johnson Jackson of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, David Clinton and Julia Jackson of Kingston, Arkansas and Daniel Scott Jackson of Aurora, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Melanie Dawn Jackson Arterbury and Brian Arterbury of Flower Mound, Texas; two sisters, Ila Napier of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Shirley Nielsen of Elkins, Arkansas; one grandson, Brady Thomas Jackson of Springfield, Missouri and four granddaughters, Cassidy Laura Jackson of Springfield, Missouri, Kennedy Frances Jackson of Aurora, Arkansas, Emma Kate Arterbury and AnnaClaire Grace Arterbury, both of Flower Mound, Texas and four granddogs, Maddie Mae, Pepsi, Chewie and Miles. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Monday, August 24, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Pat Mannon, Minister officiating. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Kevin Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Cody Hayes, Dakota Hayes, Darren Whelchel, Lenny Nielsen, Rich Robinson and Ben Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be: Sam Steele, Les Gamble, Lloyd Jones, his nephews and Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. on Sunday at the funeral home.
