Ruby Boen Carlton, 81, of Huntsville; passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Mercy Hospital, Rogers. She was born Thursday, March 18, 1943, at Jasper; to Vester and Elva Stepp Boen. Ruby married her lifelong sweetheart, Garland Rex Carlton on Friday, February 5, 1960. On June 16, 1962, they welcomed their son, Steve; followed by the arrival of Karen three years later. Three years after Karen's birth, the family relocated to the community of Marble, where Scott completed their trio of children. Ruby worked at Huntsville Garment Factory and LaBarge, while raising her family. She worked all day, but her nights were reserved for something far more precious - the joy of watching all three children play basketball. As the years passed, her love for the game endured, blossoming further as she delighted in watching her grandchildren play. She was also a big Razorback fan. Yet, beyond her love for basketball and her favorite team, her true legacy lies in the infinite love she had for her family. As a Christian, Ruby's faith anchored her, and she was a true friend, confidant, and secret keeper to her children and grandchildren. Ruby was the backbone of her family and her imprint of love will continue to follow for generations, a testament to the enduring power of a life well-lived. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Garland Carlton; and two brothers, Alvin Boen, and Coy Boen. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Yvonne Carlton, and Scott and Tara Carlton; and one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dean Routh; all of Marble; four granddaughters, Kaela and Doug Hawkins; Caitlyn and Dylan Blundell; Addisyn Routh and Kolton Reynolds; and Anna Jade Carlton; two grandsons, Jake and Kali Carlton, and Evan Carlton; and six great-grandchildren Ty Hawkins, Brody Hawkins, Sawyer Carlton, Baxton Carlton, Ava Blundell, and Charlie Blundell. Ruby is also survived by sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Forrest White, of Jasper. The family will receive friends 9:00 AM-10:00 AM, Monday, June 10, 2024, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM, with Coy Siegrist officiating. Pallbearers will be Doug Hawkins, Dylan Blundell, Kolton Reynolds, Rick Cline, Forrest White, and Mike Banks. Interment will immediately follow services at Low Gap Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
