Ronald Stephen Mounce, 70, of Delaney; passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023, at his home. He was born Saturday, May 2, 1953, at Prairie Grove; to George Washington and Gertie VanBrunt Mounce. Steve married Shelia Arlene Nobles on Friday, October 6, 1972, at Huntsville, Arkansas; and together they were parents to three children. He held the role of Supervisor at Levi Strauss for many years, and he also served as a respected deacon at Combs Baptist Church, where his faith played a central role in his life. Steve loved being outdoors, hunting, and fishing, and he had a wonderful gift for storytelling. Above all else, Steve cherished his family and his love for them was the cornerstone of his life. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gertie Mounce; three brothers, Terry Mounce, John D. Mounce and Lee Mounce; and his beloved dog, "Amos". He is survived by his wife, Shelia Mounce, of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Vikki and Howie Kelly, of Hindsville; Stephanie and Scott Eiland, of Elkins; and Aleshia Drummond, of Elkins; nine grandchildren, Abegail and Jerred Birkes, Josh and Peyton Kelly, Bryon and Amber Eiland, Haylee and Hunter Bookout, Emily Kelly, Payge Blevins, Destynn Drummond, Brynn Drummond, and Parker Eiland; and six great-grandchildren, Knox Kelly, Jax Eiland, Presley Eiland, Lukas Birkes, Edward Bookout, and Whitley Norman. Steve is also survived by his brother and sisters-in-law, Bob and Henrietta Mounce of Delaney; and Sue Mounce of Delaney. The family will receive friends 1:00 PM-2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Combs Baptist Church (229 Madison 5321, Combs AR, 72721). Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM, with Les McGaugh officiating. Pallbearers will be Kevin Mounce, Josh Kelly, Bryon Eiland, Jerred Birkes, Tyler Norman, and Hunter Bookout. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Eiland, Howie Kelly, Ronnie Mounce, Tony Mounce, Chris Mounce, Quintin Holmes, Kevin Holmes, Mason Lewis, Darrel Brandt, and Tim Partain. Interment will immediately follow services at Brannon Mountain Cemetery, Elkins. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
