Paul James "P. J." Smith, 80, of Hindsville, Arkansas, died May 10, 2008 at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born October 3, 1927 at Hindsville, Arkansas, the son of Paul and Florence Jean Bandeen Smith. He had varied careers in life as the owner of a general store, a restaurant, and had been an insurance salesman, livestock dealer and his main love and staple which was farming. As a young man, he also showed moving pictures in a tent at various locations around Madison County. He touched many lives. He was a devout Christian and a veteran of World War Two, serving in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Sue Smith, his daughter by his first wife, Louise Berry Hendrix of Huntsville. Survivors include: his wife, Ana Talamantes Smith of the home whom he married on April 27, 1985; three sons and two daughters-in-law, P. J. Smith, Jr. and Lisa Smith of Hindsville, Arkansas, Jerry RunnerSmith and Jean Runnersmith of Eureka Springs, Arkansas and Dwayne Allen Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kymberly and Kerry McAlister of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Vidi Smith of Hindsville, Arkansas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, A. T. and Georgia Mae Smith and Bill and Camelia Smith, all of Hindsville, Arkansas; one sister, Elizabeth Coger of Fayetteville, Arkansas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, May 13, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Reverend Earl Dean Morris officiating. Interment will be in the Hindsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Jim Bill Smith, Paul Smith, III, Donnie Logan, James Sisk, Chad Johnson and Roberto Fernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be: Lyndell Berry, Oscar Monsivais, John Smith, Sam Warren and James Monroe Coger. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P.
