Wanda Louise Hawkins, 81, of Huntsville, AR went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Thursday, January 18, 2024, and was at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born Monday, February 9, 1942, at Castleford, Idaho, to Freeman William & Ruth Bea Thompson Griggs. Louise married Jerry Chester Hawkins on Friday, September 26, 1980, in Huntsville, AR, and was a mother to five children. She had a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse at Huntsville and Springdale Memorial Hospitals as well as Meadowview and completed her nursing career at Eureka Springs Convalescent Center as the Director of Nursing and as a Registered Nurse. Louise obtained her Bachelors of Science And Nursing (BSN) from the University of Arkansas and dedicated many years caring for her patients and her community. She was determined and never tired as she strived to give her patients nothing shy of perfection, giving them the same dedication as her family. She was well known for her strong work ethic, determination, and resilience as she always approached her responsibilities with a sense of purpose. Beyond her professional life, Louise possessed a nurturing touch evident in her green thumb and the flowers she cultivated. Her love for the outdoors extended to farming where she raised cattle and enjoyed her horses as well as her ducks. The cornerstone of Louise’s happiness was the moments spent with her loved ones, and her family held a special place in her heart. Louise was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathie Bass. She is survived by her husband Jerry C. Hawkins, of home; two sons and daughter-in-laws Jerry Blake and Sarah Hawkins; Quinton and Carolyn Meek, all of Huntsville, three daughters and two son-in-laws Laura and Dale Coberley, of Cedarville, Marcia and Charles Duplanti, of Huntsville, and Natasha Hawkins, of Fayetteville. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Dusty & Stephanie Weems, Audry & Josh Gresham, Elwyn Monroy, Kayleigh Umana, Brianna Umana, Zack Duplanti, Katelyn Duplanti, Cody Meek, Isaiah McMillon, Justin Harris, and Julie Marion; 15 great-grandchildren, and one sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Ronnie Parker, of Bridger, Montana. The Family will receive friends 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM, with Rex Griffin officiating. Pall Bearers will be Jerry Blake Hawkins, Elwyn Monroy, Charles Duplanti, Dale Coberly, Cody Meek, and Isaiah McMillion. Honorary pallbearers will be Zack Duplanti, Jonathon Owens, Dusty Weems, and Stevon Grindstaff. Interment will immediately follow services at Huntsville Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
