Larry Joe Johnson, 79, of Pettigrew; passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville, AR 72701. He was born Friday, May 17, 1946, at Boston; to Jean Edward and Nellie America Tucker Johnson. Larry married Linda Lou Glenn on Thursday, June 2, 1966, in Huntsville. Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with two children. Larry was a devoted farmer and a faithful member of the New Home Church of Christ. Larry also enjoyed a successful career in real estate, beginning with Crossbow Realty and later spending many years with Witt and Woodbridge Real Estate. He built lasting friendships through his work and took great pride in helping families find not only their homes, but also the land and property where they could build their lives. He was a kind and wonderful man who brought joy wherever he went. Larry had a lifelong love for sports, and nothing made him happier than cheering on his grandchildren from the sidelines. Music was another of his passions, and he enjoyed filling a room with both his voice and his laughter. He sang for many years with his uncles and aunt as a member of the The New Home Quartet. Known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor, Larry could always make those around him smile. He treasured time spent with family and friends, especially when it meant gathering around the table to share a meal and laughter. Nothing brought him greater joy than the arrival of his grandsons and great-grandson, who truly meant the world to him. Larry had such a fun, jovial, and truly loving presence. It will be impossible to imagine the world without that big, beneficent, crooked smile. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Nellie Johnson; and one sister, Rhonda Hayes. He is survived by his wife, Linda Johnson, of the home; one son, Kevin Johnson, of Pettigrew; one daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Kenny Grinder, of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Tucker and Jessica Grinder, of Witter; and Torix and Adrianna Grinder, of Fayetteville; and one great-grandchild, Kiplee Glenn Grinder, of Witter. He is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Jackson and Marilyn Johnson both of Huntsville; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Joan Johnson, of Witter; many nephews, nieces, cousins, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Brashears Funeral Home with Shawn Zybach officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Johnson, Kendall Glenn, Cody Hayes, Jake McComas, Dakota Hayes, and Dawson Kimball. Honorary pallbearers will be his many friends and extended family. Interment will immediately follow services at New Home Cemetery, at Boston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Larry's name may be made to New Home Cemetery and Building Fund, c/o HD Callaway, 31009 Hwy 16, Pettigrew, Arkansas, 72752. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
