Jean Edward Johnson, 83, of Huntsville, Arkansas died February 18, 2008 at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab at Huntsville. He was born October 17, 1924 at Cove, Arkansas the son of Edward Otto and Ruby Alice Silvis Johnson. He was a member of the New Home Church of Christ and the Aurora Church of Christ. He had worked for the U. S Forestry Service and was a cattle and poultry farmer. He loved fellowship and eating at the Madison County Senior Center. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie America Tucker Johnson on March 3, 1989, one daughter, Rhonda Merlene Johnson Hayes on February 18, 2006, one sister, Redith June Bennett on February 27, 2001 and one brother-in-law, Henry Dale Callaway, Sr. on June 12, 2001. Survivors include: his wife, Jessie Lorene Madewell Johnson of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Joe and Linda Johnson of Pettigrew, Arkansas, Jerry Lee and Joan Johnson of Witter, Arkansas and Larry and Linda Byers of Kingston, Arkansas; three daughters and one son-in-law, Shirley and Tom Jackson of Aurora, Arkansas, Marilyn Johnson of Eureka Springs, Arkansas and Terri Lea Johnson of Pettigrew, Arkansas; one son-in-law, John Henry Hayes, Jr. of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Foye Kay and Louise Johnson of Pettigrew, Arkansas; one sister, Fonda Faye Callaway of Pettigrew, Arkansas; one brother-in-law, Otto Bennett of Witter, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday, February 21st in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Dee Teel, Minister officiating. Interment will be in the Boston Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net at Huntsville. Pallbearers will be: David Jackson, Daniel Jackson, Kevin Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Cody Hayes and Dakota Hayes. Honorary pallbearers will be: Melanie Arterbury, Monica Grinder, Jennifer Lundsford, Caitlin Harvey,Bucky Byers, Stacy Byers, Rebecca Capps, Kaylea Johnson, Russ Weaver, Keith Jordon, Rachel Jordon and the staff of Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P. M. on Wednesday at the funeral home with the family present.
