James Efton Case, Sr., 64, of Republic, Missouri, died May 17, 2009 at the Christian Healthcare of Springfield West in Springfield, Missouri. He was born August 23, 1944 at Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Efton Lether and Savannah Christine Hoskins Case. He sang with numerous gospel groups for nearly fifty years. He and Joyce traveled with their family across the nation singing at various churches, nursing homes, fairs and singings as "Singing Disciples". He attended the Battlefield Assembly of God Church and was an amateur radio operator. He was preceded in death by infant twins, his father, Efton Lether Case, his stepfathers, Charles Richard Bell, Sr. and Raymond Gorzkowski; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Alice Case and John DeBoer. Survivors include: the mother of his children, Brenda Joyce Baird of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sons, James Efton Case Jr. of Lexington, Oklahoma and Jacky Le'mon Case of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Lynn Case and Brian Black of Lincoln, Arkansas and Sundae Sue Case and Matthew Schulte of Republic, Missouri; his mother, Savannah Christine Hoskins Case Bell Gorzkowski of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles Richard Bell, Jr. and Karen Bell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Edith Mae Case and Arthur Roper of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Shirley Kay Case and Larry Bell of Eureka, Utah, Emma Earlene Bell and Clifford Peterson of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Ivy LaFern Bell and Harvey Hilburn of Winslow, Arkansas, Dianna Christine Bell and Ray Edmonson of Huntsville, Arkansas; and Esther Charlene Bell and Vernon Turner of Delaney, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. Friday, May 22, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverends John Martin, Earl Jordan, Johnny Case and Richard Orrell officiating. Interment will be in the Captain Smith Cemetery near Witter under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Larry Bell, Arthur Roper, Jr., Daniel Mullen, Johnny DeBoer, Johnny Case, Douglas Black, Andy Mullen and David Bell. Honorary pallbearers will be: Brian Black and Matthew Schulte. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at Arvest Bank.
