In loving memory of our mother Gene "Genie" Allison-Richardson, who passed away on Saturday May 02, 2026. She was a devoted wife of Dwayne Richardson (the love of her life) and loving mother of Alex Gayson, Christopher Coddington, and Nanette Schapiro. She had eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Genie was born in Beaumont, Texas on December 13, 1939. She moved to California when she was 3 years old. She was the youngest of nine children. At ten years old she learned to ice skate, roller skate, and took ballet lessons. Genie was a straight "A" student and graduated from high school a year early. During her adolescent years she learned how to sew and performed in ice skating competitions. She made many different outfits, dresses, and even sewed quilts for all her kids. She always had a deep love for the outdoors. She loved to camp, fish, and travel in their motorhome across the country. In 2004 Genie met the love of her lie and soul mate, Dwayne Richardson, shy and bashful, he asked her out. In 2019 they were happily married. They moved from California in 2021 to Huntsville, Arkansas to their forever home. Genie worked every Christmas holiday season on the New Year's Rose Bowl floats, in Pasadena, California. She had a passion for flowers and had many varieties of flowers growing in and out of her house and yard. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Our mother was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She loved teaching the grandkids how to fish, sew, and garden. She was so proud of her grandkids and great-grandkids, and took every opportunity to let everyone know it. She was a strong, feisty woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She taught us kids to be independent, work hard, and earn what you want in life, and not to take things for granted. To quote our mother, "Only you can make your own happiness". We all love you mom/grandma. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM-10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 10:00 AM with Bill Skaggs officiating. Interment will immediately follow services at Sparks Cemetery, Huntsville, AR. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
