Claude A. Baxter, 79, of Liberty Hill, Texas, died December 21, 2007 at his home. He was born October 1, 1928 at Liberty, Arizona, the son of Joe and Margarate Baxter. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Liberty Hill, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Raymond Baxter, one sister and brother-in-law, Lulu and Dean Peters and by one great-grandson, Larry James Kilpatrick. Survivors include: his wife of fifty-nine years, Lorene Baxter of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Debbie Baxter of Odessa, Texas and Dale and Linda Baxter of Liberty Hill, Texas; one daughter, June Martin of Huntsville, Arkansas; one brother and friend, Carl Baxter and Lori Nediemeyer of Buckeye, Arizona; one sister, Leota Miller of Boulder City, Nevada; three grandsons and one granddaughter-in-law, Robert and Kara Baxter of Liberty Hill, Texas, Jason Baxter of Silver City, New Mexico and Ethan Baxter of Odessa, Texas; five granddaughters and three grandsons-in-law, Melissa and Kenneth Watkins and Lori and Jason Kilpatrick, all of Huntsville, Arkansas, Sarah and Shawn Wright of Lakehills, Texas, Rebecca Baxter of Odessa, Texas and Katelyn Baxter of Liberty Hill, Texas; two great-grandsons, Peter Baxter of Liberty Hill, Texas and Alex J. Kilpatrick of Huntsville, Arkansas; two great-granddaughters, Kenzie Watkins and Shayleigh Watkins, both of Huntsville, Arkansas; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Debbie Stewart of Tuscan, Arizona and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday, December 28, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Reverend John Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Wesley Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville. Pallbearers will be: Robert Baxter, Jason Baxter, Danny Martin, Ethan Baxter, Jeff Branstetter and Larry Branstetter. Honorary pallbearers will be: Kenneth Watkins, Jason Kilpatrick, Lonnie Smith, Dallas Prouty, Harold Don Bowen, John Edward Martin and Kevin Coultier. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
