Reese Smith

March 6, 1962 - April 21, 2022

Reese Ellsworth Smith, 60, of Marble, Arkansas; passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Circle of Life Hospice, Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born Tuesday, March 6, 1962, at Scranton, Pennsylvania; to Lorren Mallory and Doris Jean Roberts Smith. He enjoyed outdoor activities including fishing, rock and arrowhead hunting. Over the course of his 10 years at the Marble Fire Department, he served as a first responder and volunteer firefighter. Reese would help anyone in need, and he never met a stranger. A man of strong faith, he loved God, people and all animals. He was also an avid "collector" of almost anything. His furry buddy, "Fluffy", has been by his side for 17 years. Reese was preceded in death by his father, Lorren; one sister, Christina Chambers; two brothers-in-law, Manuel McGarrah and Dennis Merseal; and one nephew, Jonathan "Pete" McGarrah. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Doris and Larry Clark, of Pineville, Missouri; two sisters, Cathy McGarrah, of Witter, Arkansas.; and Karen Merseal, of Holiday Island, Arkansas.; and one brother and sister-in-law; Richard and Eva Smith, of Rogers, Arkansas; one uncle, Philip and Veronica Smith of Talladega, Alabama and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Lower Campground Cemetery in Marble, 212 Madison 2120, Huntsville, AR 72740. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Reese's name to Lower Campground Church of Marble or Circle of Life Hospice. Cremation was entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
