    Paul Norris Auslam

    June 15, 1927 - May 30, 2011

    Paul Norris Auslam, 83, of Springdale, Arkansas, died May 30, 2011 at the Springdale Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 15, 1927 at Huntsville, Arkansas, the son of Dewey Bryan and Melissa Josephine Parker Auslam. He had retired from the Engineering Division of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville after more than twenty-five years of service. He was a veteran of World War Two, serving in the United States Army and a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by one stepson, Justin Herring, one stepdaughter, Jennifer D. Pettey, and two brothers, John Parker Auslam and Charles Gabe Auslam. Survivors include: his wife, Mary Catherine Devine Auslam of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul N. Auslam, Jr. and Luann Auslam and Timothy J. and DeDe Auslam, all of Elkins, Arkansas and Phillip H. Auslam and Jeraldine McKinney of Goshen, Arkansas; two stepdaughters and one stepson-in-law, Krystan Michele Herring of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Amy Dawn and Dean Hays of Elkins, Arkansas; one brother, James Auslam of Huntsville, Arkansas; two sisters, Catto Woods of Brewster, Washington and Mary Sue Emmitt of Huntsville, Arkansas; his mother-in-law, June Devine of Woodward, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Thursday, June 2, at the Fayetteville National Cemetery with Pastor Dallas Auslam officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Dallas Auslam, Jordan Auslam, Seth Auslam, Jake Auslam, Josh Auslam, Elyssa Sheets and Savanna Auslam. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. on Wednesday at the funeral Home.
