Nella Evelyn McCoy Hammons, 93, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died September 4, 2014 at Fayetteville Health and Rehab in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born April 20, 1921 at Mantie, Arkansas, the daughter of Jess W. and Willie Vesta Reynolds McCoy. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of Fayetteville First Free Will Baptist Church. She was the widow of Jesse James Hammons who preceded her in death on February 21, 1994. She was also preceded in death by three sons, one son-in-law and five brothers. Survivors include: one daughter, Vesta Ledbetter of Springdale, Arkansas; one daughter-in-law, Marsha Hammons of Greenwood, Arkansas; one sister, Artie Peterson of Bella Vista, Arkansas; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 P. M. Wednesday, September 10, at the Fayetteville First Free Will Baptist Church with The Reverend Walter Vanderlip officiating. Interment will be in the Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: James Ledbetter, Paul Ledbetter, Cody Ledbetter, Brian Hammons, Jack Hammons and Tim McCoy.
