Lorenzo "Shorty" Ramirez

Lorenzo "Shorty" Ramirez, 93, of Huntsville, Arkansas, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on January 7, 2018.  He was born September 11, 1924, in Pearsall, Texas; the son of Pedro Ramirez and Marta Juarez Salines.  He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Cuca, to whom he was married 71 years; as well as his daughter, Yuca; and son-in-laws, Wayne Knapton and Pat Beeler.He is survived by his brother, Pedro Ramirez, of Merkel, TX; two sisters, Cande Camacho of Pearsall, TX; and Magdalene Haco of Anson, TX; his eight sons and daughter-in-laws, Cato and Shirley Ramirez, Jr. and Tracy Ramirez, Roland and Betty Ramirez, Abel and Marcia Ramirez, Gilbert and Jana Ramirez, and Joe Ramirez (and son, Braeden); all of Huntsville; Rick and Janet Ramirez, and Roger and Marilyn Ramirez all of Lowell; his five daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Ramirez Beeler of Gentry; Telma and Frank Thompson, Annie and David Burger, Becky and Larry Varner; all of Huntsville; and Mary and Mark Miller of Fayetteville.  Shorty and Cuca had 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson, Shady Hayes Thompson, who was his best buddy.Shorty loved his family.  He accepted Christ as his personal savior and lived life to the fullest.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 10, at the Alabam Cemetery with Janet Ramirez officiating.  Pallbearers will be his sons.  Arrangements are under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas.
