Loren Dale Murphy

Loren Dale Murphy, 90, walked home with Jesus in the early morning hours of January 26, 2022. He was born Thursday, August 6, 1931, at Palmyra, Missouri, to Frank Lee and Minnie Elizabeth Schmidt Murphy. Loren’s childhood was spent in Palmyra and Benbow, Missouri. His family moved to Kewanee, Illinois in 1942. He graduated from Kewanee High School in 1949. He served in the Marine Corps 1952-1954. He was stationed in Yokosuka Japan as a radioman during the Korean Conflict. After returning to Kewanee, he worked in Parts and Service in G.M. dealerships in Kewanee and Berryville, Arkansas. He married Shirley Snider on September 12, 1954, in Kewanee. Loren was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Rex Lee Murphy, and one grandson, Christopher Murphy. He is survived by his Wife Shirley Murphy of the home; one son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Mari Murphy of Kewanee, IL; One daughter Susan Murphy of Huntsville, AR; one granddaughter Taryn and Brad Cirks, one grandson Thomas and Jenni Murphy, Great grandchildren Jayson Johnson, Kaden Cirks, T.J. Murphy, and Sara Murphy, one sister Loretta Vaughn, two Sister-in-laws Sharon Thurwanger and Josie Snider, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Loren was a born-again Christian, a true believer and follower of Jesus Christ. Many times, he said until a person accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, nothing else mattered. Once that was taken care of, everything else would fall into place. No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation is entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
