Joy Sue Gabbard

Joy Sue Gabbard, 69, of Wesley, Arkansas died January 15, 2011 at Northwest Medical Center at Springdale, Arkansas. She was born April 29, 1941 at Patrick, Arkansas the daughter of Fred and Effie Sanders Parsley. She and Ralph Dudley were owners of the Twin Oaks restaurant and later the Wagon Wheel restaurant both in Elkins, Arkansas after which she worked for Bomart's Bakery and Deli until her retirement. She enjoyed tending her garden, while enjoying the company of her humming birds and caring for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, one great-grandson, Trenton Micheal Spurgin, and her brothers and sisters. Survivors include: her companion of thirty years and love of her life, Ralph Dudley of the home; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Jackie Bowerman and Rodney Bowerman both of Farmersville, Texas and Billy and Marlene Bowerman of Saint Paul, Arkansas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Connie and Lewis Barber of Merit, Texas, Debbie Carte of Hattiesville, Arkansas and Susie and Gary Sachs of Elkins, Arkansas; seventeen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday, January 21 at the Patrick Community Building with Rev. Jasper Hankins officiating. Interment will be in the Patrick Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net at Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Toby Barber, Tim Carte, Denton Sachs, Dustin Bowerman, Brandin Bowerman, Michael Bowerman, Mitchell Bowerman and Matthew Bowerman. Honorary pallbearers will be: Chris Bowerman and Dakota Parsley. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P. M. on Thursday at the funeral home with the family present.
