Joseph McAuthor Hogg

January 8, 1944 - January 31, 2022

Joseph McAuthor Hogg, 78, of Kingston; passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, at Northwest Medical Center, Springdale. He was born Saturday, January 8, 1944, at El Dorado; to James Hat and Bertha A. Lowery Hogg. Joseph married Claudia Folsom on Saturday, March 6, 1971, at New Caney, Texas; and together they were parents to four children. Joseph was a truck driver for many years. He and his family moved to Kingston in 1987 and Joseph began working as a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, working with his cattle, and taking drives through the county to sightsee. Joseph was giving and provided for his family, he worked hard so his wife could stay home and take care of their family. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Thomas Warren, William Warren, and Jimmy Hogg; two sisters, Neda Dumensnail and Sara “Cricket” Hogg; and one brother-in-law, Ernest Folsom. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Hogg of the home; four daughters and one son-in-law, Deena Billingsley of Houston, Texas; Gloria Biggs of Livingston, Texas; Claudette and Ted Walker of Kingston; and Sharon Anderson of Kingston; one sister, Joyce Folsom of Onalaska, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Dustin and Amanda Johnson, Michael Hogg, Jenna Esnard, Carla Hogg, Sterling and Kayla Emitt, Brittany and William Pasons, Jonathan and Chandra Emitt, Cody Anderson and Lexie Wyrick, Phillip Emitt and Bailey Carpenter, Breanna Emitt, Caiden Fancher, and Trey Walker; and 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
