Jim Edwards

Jim William Edwards, 73, of Springdale; died Monday, January 20, 2020, at Fayetteville. He was born Thursday, October 3, 1946, at Red Star; to Arvel and Ethel Combs Edwards. Jim married Carol Ann Garrett in Wesley on March 27, 1971; and together they were parents to one son. He was a former teacher at Kingston schools, and retired from the Carroll County Farm Service Agency where he served as County Executive Director. Jim loved to work with his hands, watching sports, and enjoyed following politics. Jim was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Carol Edwards of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Holly Edwards of Springdale; one sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Jack Watkins of Springdale; and two aunts, Onita Barker of Longview, Washington; and Ollie Clark of Dell City, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, January 24, 2020, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Brashears Funeral Home with Jim Duncan and John Napier officiating. Pallbearers will be Brent Watkins, Kevin Watkins, Dean Garrett, Jason Dunk, Brian Smith, Steve Chapman, Kent Cotton, and Weston Hutcheson. Honorary pallbearers will be George Edgemon, Max Edwards, Jack Watkins, Sam Steele, Bart Edwards, Randy Garrett, and Jackie Yates. Interment will immediately follow services at Drakes Creek Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
