Helen Bivens-Dowell

Helen Nadine (Bivens) Dowell passed away, Tuesday, April 7, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Hap Bivens; and a great-great-grandbaby, Elijah Bivens. Helen lived most of her life on Flemings Creek. This is where she and Hap raised their 5 kids, Imogene Phillips, Jo Wheeler, Sam Bivens, Harold Bivens and Joy Parker. She was a social worker, and director of the Saint Paul Community Center for many years. She was a devout Christian, faithful, loving wife, and the best mother and granny in the world. She has indeed left quite a legacy. Five kids, twelve grandkids, fourteen great-grandkids, and eight great-great grandchildren, as well as brother, sisters, nieces, nephews cousins and a host of friends. Nothing was more important to Helen than her Lord and her family, both of which she served. Due to the Covid-19 virus, the family will have a private grave-side service. When things have cleared, there will be a celebration of her life held. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Brashears Cemetery, c/o Jo Wheeler, 20742 Highway 295, Wesley, AR 72773. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
