Ernest Boyd Dennis

March 24, 1927 - April 19, 2014

Ernest Boyd Dennis, 87, of Aurora, Arkansas, died April 19, 2014 at his home.  He was born March 24, 1927 at Aurora, Arkansas, the son of Sidney Eugene and Edna Arilda Cain Dennis.  He was a retired farmer, a veteran of World War Two, serving in the United States Army and a member of Hayes-Smith Post #137, American Legion at Huntsville, Arkansas.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Velda Grace Perkins Dennis on May 6, 2005.  He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Coyt Dennis, Cecil Dennis, Calvin Dennis and Norman Dennis and by two sisters, Vay McCollough and Velma Hayes.Survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Sharon Dennis of Purdy, Arkansas, Dale and Mary Dennis and Tim Dennis, all of Aurora, Arkansas; three sisters, Sharon K. Myers of Aurora, Arkansas, Vercie Reynolds and Vivian Bowman, both of Huntsville, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Tuesday, April 22, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverend David Harrison officiating.  Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas.  Pallbearers will be: Bryan Carson, David Deaton, Brent Myers, Joe Johnson, Jeff Myers and Ronnie Dennis.  Honorary pallbearer will be Gene Dennis.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. on Monday at the funeral home.
