    Carolyn Sue Burris

    July 17, 1946 - August 24, 2018

Carolyn Sue Burris, 72, of Kingston, Arkansas, went to Heaven on the 24th of August, 2018.  She was born on July 17, 1946, in Amarillo, Texas, to Maudie Thomas Kirkland who have preceded her in death.Carolyn enjoyed the simple things about life such as family, fishing, gardening, crafts and working on the farm.  She worked as a school teacher for fifteen years for the Springdale School District, and enjoyed, very much, sharing the memories of the rewarding relationships that she had with her students.  Her heart and her home were always open to a person in need.  Even in her final hours, she was working on giving the abundance of food her garden had produced to local families that needed it.  She was a very strong woman who was not afraid of work, getting her hands dirty, and always trying to find the good in a bad situation.  She is loved, cherished, and will be missed by many as she lives on in our hearts forever.  She is survived by her loving husband, whom she married on April 4, 1969; two children, William E. Burris of Coleman, Alabama; and Katterina S. Barnhart of Kingston, Arkansas; three beautiful granddaughters, Aerial Marie Barnhart, Destiny Raine Barnhart, both of Cabot, Arkansas; and Kelsey Eryn Burris of Coleman, Alabama.  She is also survived by two brothers, Thomas Kirkland of South Gate, California, and David Kirkland of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Services will be informal and held at Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory in Huntsville on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.  If compelled to send flowers, the family has requested potted plants instead of cut flowers so that your gift can give for years to come.
